Stemming and Lemmatization

Both stemming and lemmatization are identical in having the same goal of reducing a word into it's base form (Manning, 2009). They however differ when it comes to implementation. Stemming is a process of removing the ends (mostly suffixes in English) in order to reveal the base form. Stemming is usually done to remove derivational forms attached to a base word.
